3/6/24 – This is a rare Remington UMC 1911. Of the three manufacturers of accepted U.S. Military 1911 pistols, the Remington-UMC is the least common with only ~21,000 produced. This pistol is a first-year Remington UMC production (1918), with proper E.E.C. inspectors marking on the left side of the frame. Major Edmond E. Chapman was responsible for the entire Rem-UMC production. Below his mark is an Eagle/1 proof. The barrel is High Standard. The gun has lost virtually all of its finish. Fitted with period-correct wood grips and comes with a proper two-tone magazine. Excellent bore.
