3/6/24 – This is a rare and desirable Winchester Model 12 Trench Shotgun that was issued to the U.S. military.It’s in the proper serial range for Winchester Model 12 trench guns, and has a parkerized finish.The parkerized finish is very nice overall with minor oxidation on the receiver.This example is not a factory parkerized finish but an arsenal overhaul later in the war or after WW2, as the serial is earlier than noted factory parkerized examples.Receiver is U.S. marked with flaming bomb ordnance proof.Stock has ‘AN’ arsenal marking and a ‘P’ on the wrist.Correct Model 12 stock with thicker wrist.The handguard is in good condition with no damage.Original Winchester buttplate with no cracks or chips.Excellent bore.20in barrel marked ‘cyl’ is correct.Winchester (‘W’ marked) bayonet lug with proper 4-row heat shield.Comes with a leather sling.
