Description
6/16/23 – This is a very nice example of a Remington Model 1917 issued to the US military in 1918. Remington barrel dated March of 1918. All the parts are properly Remington-marked, and it has the proper “Eagle Head” and flaming bomb military acceptance proofs. The underside of the stock wrist also has an “Eagle Head” proof and an “S” marking. The very edge of the stock has an “R” marking. The metal parts have retained roughly 85% of their original bluing. There is wear around the high edges in general and areas of wear on the barrel bands, floor plate, and trigger group. Light brown patina in the same areas. Very nice wood stock with only minor bruises and scratches here and there. Comes with a period-correct leather sling. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
