Description
3/7/23 – This is a nice example of a Model 1911A1 put together from a 1942-43 Remington Rand frame and a rare Union Switch & Signal slide. It is “United States Property” marked, has a cross-canon cartouche, and has the proper “FJA” inspector initials. Proper High Standard barrel. The slide has been re-parkerized, so the finish is really nice – just a couple of tiny handling marks on the right side of the slide. There is not much actual finish loss on the frame, but there is noticeable brown patina throughout. Spotty oxidation on the front strap. Fitted a nice set of period-correct reddish plastic grips. Comes with a post-war magazine. The bore is excellent – strong rifling with just a hint of frosting in the grooves.
