11/9/23 – This is a nice example of an Enfield No 4 Mk 1 made by Savage in 1940’s. The bolt is matching. The front barrel bands were made by made by Savage and marked with an “S”. The receiver is marked “US PROPERTY”. Mild import mark also on the left side of the reciever. The metal parts have retained roughly 85 to 90% of their finish. There is general high edge wear. The wood furniture shows minor handling and use wear, but presents very well. Marked behind the trigger guard with the Savage “S” The bore has good rifling and rates about 7.5 of 10. Includes a period correct spike bayonet with metal scabbard.
