Description
5/15/25 – This is a nice example of a scarce WB-marked Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1942. The slide is numbered 763627, only digit different from the serial number on the slide, which is 763607. So it is very possible that it was just a factory mistake, but we cannot say that for sure. It is “United States Property” marked and has “WB” inspector initials. The barrel is a proper Colt barrel with a small “G” under the lug. While there is almost no actual finish loss, there are areas of obvious spotty surface oxidation – most noticeable on the left side of the gun. Fitted with period-correct reddish-brown plastic grips and comes with a post-war commercial magazine. The bore has great rifling for the most part, but there is obvious spotty surface oxidation.
