Description
1/5/24 – This is an excellent example of a Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1942. Only about 100,000 were produced that year, compared to over 750,000 in 1943. The slide is numbered but mismatched – very close in number (770787). It is “United States Property” marked and has “WB” inspector initials. Correct “Colt 45 Auto” barrel with a large “G” under the lug. The gun has retained about 96% of its original finish with just hints of high edge wear and some very minor thinning on the front strap. Fitted with period-correct reddish-brown plastic grips and comes with a proper “S” marked magazine. The bore has strong rifling with very light pin-pricking throughout.
