7/10/24 – This is a nice example of a scarce WB-marked Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1942. The slide is numbered and matching. It is “United States Property” marked and has “WB” inspector initials. “Colt 45 Auto” barrel with a large “G” under the lug. The barrel is correctly blued, but it is polished only around the around the ejection port. The gun has retained roughly 70% of its original finish with general thinning and honest wear throughout. Fitted with period-correct reddish-brown plastic grips and comes with an “L” marked magazine. The bore has good rifling with light pin-pricking in the grooves.
