1/14/22 – This is a scarce Arisaka Type 97 sniper rifle as produced at Nagoya Arsenal, one of only 15,000.These were based on the Type 38 rifle, and when fired, the mild 6.5x50mm Arisaka cartridge gave off little flash or smoke and made counter-sniper activity difficult.This particular rifle is almost all matching numbers throughout, including the bolt assembly.The only mismatched part is the extractor.Full mum is intact on receiver.Blued finish appears arsenal restored, with some freckling in the finish throughout.Strong, shiny bore.Nice stock with various dings but no cracks.No scope included with the listing.
