Description
09/30/2024 – For sale is a rare, early variant of the Type 99 Arisaka. In 1940, the Nagoya Arsenal had begun production of the Type 99 Arisakas but they were originally a longer Type 38 length rifle. Nagoya had produced 8,000 while Toyo Kogyo produced 38,000 so the Nagoya are much rarer. This rifle was produced at the Nagoya Arsenal and is all matching. The finish is clean on the metal with a lot of the original finish remaining but slightly browned with age and spots of oxidation. Stock is in good condition with plenty of signs of use and pressure marks but no cracks or breaks. The Mum is near perfect but has been lightly struck twice. The bore is clean with good rifling and bright but the brightness fades at the muzzle. The rifle is missing its monopod and dust cover.
