10/7/24 – This is a nice example of a hard-to-find Colt M1911A1, manufactured in 1941 with proper RS inspectors mark. There were only ~35,000 Colt 1911’s produced that year, which is a very low production number for Colt 1911’s in general. The RS – Robert Sears inspector proof is very rare and desirable for Colt collectors. This pistol is all correct with proper markings and matching numbered slide. Proper Colt barrel with a large “G” under the lug. The parkerized finish rates at about 90% with general high edge wear and thinning on the front strap. While there isn’t much actual finish loss, there are areas of light spotty oxidation and pin-pricking – most noticeable on the front strap and right side of the slide. Fitted with period-correct reddish grips and comes with an “R” marked magazine. Very nice bore.
