5/26/25 – This mid-19th century piece is in great condition, showing surface oxidation stains covering the barrel with minor pitting. Manufactured in Philadelphia 1859 to 1874. Model 1A, chambered in .22 Caliber short. Serial 19870 on butt and under barrel. The issue with this piece is, the hammer operates, but will not stay in the cocked position. It will lock occasionally, but not consistently. Everything else functions properly. Engraved hard rubber grips. Frame marked “C. Sharps & Co / Philada. PA” on right side, “C. Sharps Patent 1859 on left side. Barrel locks tight in the closed position, but wiggles slightly. Firing pin rotates normally each time the hammer is cocked.
