Description

8/7/24 – This is a Smith & Wesson Victory Model rig from World War II. It is U.S. Made from 1942 to 1944, with a production run of ~500,000, these were standard issued side arms for US Navy and Marine air crews due to their size and ease of operation. Property marked and G.H.D (Guy H. Drewry) inspector marked. It is all matching and has the serial number stamped on the butt of the frame, the underside of the barrel, and on the back of the cylinder. Flaming bomb proof is slightly faded but clearly visible on the top strap to the left of the U.S property marking. There are military “P” proofs on the left side of the frame, cylinder, and underside of the barrel. The gun has retained about 95% of its finish, with wear on some of the high edges, and some surface scratches and handling marks here and there. A couple small dings on the left side of the barrel, and some very minor oxidation on the back strap. A bit of muzzle wear, and a roll mark on cylinder. Minty bore, and excellent mechanics. Fitted with an excellent set of hand-checkered commercial grips, and a commercial Bucheimer holster that fits perfectly.
