Description
11/3/23 – This is a nice example of a Springfield Krag Model 1898 manufactured around 1903. Overall, it is in good condition. The most of the remaining finish is along the barrel. The rest of the parts show signs of wear. Most notably, there is spotty discoloration on the left side of the receiver and brown patina on the right. The stock has a nice and crisp 1903-dated military cartouche. However, there is a “66” rack number and the initials “J.W.” carved into the butt stock. Tiny hairline crack just behind the receiver. Very nice bore with good rifling.
