4/26/24 – This is an excellent example of a Springfield M1 Garand. The serial number on the receiver dates to about July of 1943. Springfield-marked barrel dated January of 1942. There are DOD proof marks on the barrel and on the left side of the stock. The metal parts have retained about 93% of their finish with minor wear on the gas tube. Excellent stock, but the condition upper handguard does not match the rest of the wood. Muzzle reading: 2. Throat reading: 1.
