7/24/25 – For sale is a Springfield Model 1873 made in 1886. The rifle is marked 1873 on the trapdoor but it is updated to 1884 specs with the Buffington rear sight. The rifle retains a nice, but aged bluing on its metal parts, with a hint of case color finish visible on the trapdoor. There is prickling of oxidation throughout the metal surfaces. The stock is in great shape with a couple pressure dents and handling marks. There is a crack in front of the front barrel band on the right side about 1″ in length. The bore is bright with strong rifling.
