03/18/2024 – For sale is a Swiss Vetterli Model 1878/81 rifle chambered in .41 Swiss. These rifles were one of the earliest large-bore repeating rifles adopted by a military. The Vetterli Uses a King’s Gate loading system. This rifle has been converted to centerfire instead of rim fire. The rifle overall is in clean condition and is free of rust or pitting but throughout the rifle has some freckling and patina. The wood furniture is clean and free of any major breaks or cracks. There are dings and handling marks. The bore is decent and has some light shining through but is frosted and has some carbon buildup. This rifle has matching serial numbers on the receiver, nose cap, bolt rear, and barrel. The rifle is missing its cleaning rod.
