12/30/24 – This is a very good example of an early WW2 Type 30 Bayonet made by the Tokyo Arsenal. The bayonet features a bright fullered blade and other early features such as a bird’s head pommel, hooked cross guard, and a ball-tipped metal scabbard. The blade is in good condition with almost no wear. The blade has been sharpened. The blade on this bayonet is a more desirable variation of the Tokyo Arsenal blades, in that it is also inspector stamped under the arsenal marking. The cross guard has finish wear, as well as a light patina. The pommel has wear and its finish is thinning, but is in good overall condition. The pommel has a Tokyo inspector’s mark and is serial numbered. The wood grip has some small nicks and dents but is still fully intact. The scabbard on this bayonet is in overall good condition but does have some dents and a slight bend. This however is not effecting the functionality and integrity of the scabbard.
