Description
10/3/24 – This is an ultra rare Colt 1911A1 from 1945 with JSB inspector mark on frame. Those initials stand for John S. Begley, who inspected only the very last WW2 military examples produced. It’s estimated that only 25-50 remain or are known of the ~2000 that he inspected. Thus, due to a low survival rate, these frames are about as rare as the Singer 1911A1.This particular example was re-worked and comes out of the CMP.It has a Colt slide and frame. These guns were also re-parkerized by the arsenal, and this one is in excellent condition.Flannery barrel with excellent bore, but barrel has also been parkerized.Very nice grips with minor smoothing.Postwar magazine.
