Description
6/12/23 – This is a US Savage Arms No. 4 Mk 1 rifle made under the Lend Lease Act for British use during WW2. This example was made in 1942 before the US entered the war, and was stamped US Property under the pretext that this rifle was made on loan as the US was still neutral at the time. The bolt and receiver band both are US Flaming Bomb ordnance stamped as well. The rifle is in great condition with all original parts. The metal is in about 70% overall condition with some thinning and light finish loss throughout the metal, but no dark discoloration, rust, or pitting. The wood stock is excellent and clean with no cracks or chips. The only stamp in the wood is a small “S” on the underside near the trigger guard. The bore is excellent and shiny with strong rifling. Comes with an original canvas sling and bayonet.
