10/10/25- For sale is a USS Maine commemorative pin. The sinking of the USS Maine in Havana is often cited as the cause of the Spanish-American War, one of America’s least remembered wars. The pin is small, about the size of a half-dollar, and has an image of the Maine on the front and patent and manufacturer information on the back. The last listed patent on the pin is 1896, indicating it was most likely made around 1898 for the Spanish-American War. The pin is in overall very good condition.
