Description
12/10/24 – For sale is a Springfield Model 1861 Rifled Musket made in 1862. The rifle is in great condition overall. The metal has some dotting of shallow pitting and oxidation but none of it is very deep or problematic. The metal is worn down to bare metal but proofs are still easily legible. The stock is very nice with no cracks or breaks but looks to have been lightly sanded sometime in the past. There are two inspection stamps visible on the left side but they are too shallow to tell what it says. The bore is dark but the rifling is visible with a light. The action works properly. The socket bayonet has surface oxidation but is overall in good condition.
