Description
1/4/24 – This is a rare DWM Model 1928 Dutch Navy Luger. The 1928 Dutch Navy DWM model was made specifically for military sales to the Dutch Navy. Even though the Dutch Army and the Dutch Naval Air Service had officially adopted the Luger, it was not until 1928 that the rank and file Dutch Navy did so. They are characterized by having no grip safety, DWM on the toggle, a safety marked “Rust”, and having only “Crown N” proofs. It is also in the accepted serial range of 1-1484. The bluing rates about 93% with wear on the side plate, side rails, and around the muzzle. Light scratchy wear on the front strap. Fitted with un-numbered wood grips. Comes with a mismatched WW2-era magazine. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is light pin-pricking throughout.
