6/20/24 – This is an original WW1 Imperial German Machine Gun Unit Badge. The badge is in great condition with high edge wear and natural patina throughout the metal logo. The oval shaped machine gun emblem is on a piece of olive wool uniform cloth, and backed with a bent steel disc. This steel disc backing is maker stamped, but the maker stamp is on the inward-facing side, leaving a mirror image of the marking visible. Natural patina and wear throughout but great condition given its’ age. Measures about 8cm long. These are highly desirable as the machine gun units were elite forces using the latest and greatest military technology at the time.
