10/2/25- This is a great example of a WWI Iron Cross 2nd Class. The Iron Cross was awarded for either bravery in battle or distinguished deeds in combat during a battle. The Iron Cross was a sought after medal for soldiers of the German Empire. The Iron cross was first established in 1813 and was used up through WW2. This Iron Cross has a ribbon backing and is configured for wear on a medal/ribbon bar on a uniform. The cross is in good condition with mild wear and patina but no serious damage. The ribbon backing shows signs of age but has no fraying or serious damage. Overall in very good condition.
