Description
2/17/25 – This is a nice example of a 1944 Dual Tone P.38 with a blued barrel and a phosphate finish on the slide and frame. All matching with the proper “Waffen 135” military acceptance proofs. The black Mauser style grips are proper for 1944 production – some scratches and blemishes on the right side. These finishes are a bit tough to rate, but we estimate this one has retained about 90%. There is general high edge wear, thinning on the front strap, and areas of minor discoloration on both sides of the slide. Comes as a rig with a 1944-dated holster (holes in the belt loops), a “Waffen 706” proofed jvd magazine, and a scarce “U” marked magazine. Very nice bore. De-cocker is not functional.
