Description
7/25/23 – This is a nice example of a DWM Gewehr 98 rifle issued to the Imperial German military in 1916. The gun is almost entirely matching, but the sliding portion of the rear sight is mismatched. The stock is numbered and matching. The metal parts have lost virtually all of their original finish with noticeable spotty oxidation throughout and some areas of tiny pitting here and there, most noticeable on the receiver. The stock has no major damage, but shows the typical signs of wear. It appears to have been very lightly sanded. The bore has good rifling with minor frosting throughout.
