7/11/23 – This is an original WW1 production Artillery Luger holster. The holster is in great overall condition with very nice light brown leather. The stitching is all tight and intact, but there’s evidence of restitching or perhaps a mistake in the original stitching on this example. This is evidenced by the extra stitching holes showing on the back leather. Further, there are a few loose and broken stitches at the toe of the holster. This doesn’t affect function or fit, but is worth noting. Price reduced accordingly. All the stitching does appear to be period correct, and based on the stitching style and double-stamped maker and date stamps, this suggests perhaps this holster was rushed production or a manufacturing fluke. The back leather is maker and dated 1917. There’s also a “MADE IN GERMANY” ink stamp on the back leather, meaning this was exported from Germany likely after WW1. The leather is strong and clean overall. A very nice example.
