Description
4/18/24 – This is an original 1941 K98 bayonet with matching scabbard and frog. This bayonet has an excellent blued blade with minor scabbard wear along the center edge but mainly favors the tip. Other than that, the blade has no scratches, rusting, pitting, or discoloration. The edge is unsharpened. The blade is marked “41 ddl” on one side and “3802 a” on the other. The hand guard has some oxidation on the left side and some finish wear on the right. An excellent original handle with just a few surface scratches. The pommel has some deeper oxidation throughout but marked with a WaA885 on the release button. The scabbard is in great shape but the finish doesn’t appear to be original. Scabbard is marked “41 ddl” on one side and “3802a” on the other. I cannot make out a waffen stamp on the tip of the scabbard or one the end of the pommel. The frog has some honest wear and is missing its strap.
