3/27/2023 – This is a Springfield M1 Garand with a receiver that dates to the start of 1943. The barrel is also Springfield marked and dates to January of 1943. There are very feint Springfield cartouches on the left side of stock, and what looks like an Ogden rework marking. It has retained about 85% of its finish, with the majority of the wear located on the gas tube. No major damage to the wood stock, but there are noticeable bruises and scratches throughout. Markings are faint, so this one was likely sanded. There is a rack number painted on upper edge of butt stock. Minty bore. The muzzle reading is 1 and the throat reading is 0.
