1/30/25 – This is an excellent example of a Matching German K98 Bayonet. This bayonet comes with the original matching scabbard and correct frog.The scabbard and the metal parts on the handle of this bayonet have the majority of their finish still intact. There is some spotty oxidation on the pommel of the bayonet. The waffen stamps on the pommel are still present and easily visible.The blade on this bayonet is in excellent condition with almost all of its original finish still intact. The only areas where this finish is missing is from standard scabbard wear.Both the blade and the scabbard are serial numbered, “2834C”. The blade is additionally maker marked on the other side with “44 fnj”, and the scabbard is marked “44 fnj” on the other side. The blade has no signs of being sharpened.The leather frog is in excellent condition and is maker stamped on the back, this maker stamp has faded and is hard to make out.
