Description
4/26/24 – This is a very nice example of a Springfield M1 Garand issued to the US military in about June of 1945. It is all correct. Springfield and cross-canon cartouche on the left side of the stock. Springfield barrel dated 6-45. All Springfield assembly numbers. The finish on the metal parts rates somewhere between 85-90% with general high edge and muzzle wear and some thinning on the barrel. Very nice wood with only minor bruising. One small gouge just behind the rear sling swivel. The bore has good rifling with minor pin-pricking in the grooves. Muzzle reading: 2-3. Throat reading: 1.
