Description
4/18/23 – This is a beautiful example of a Smith & Wesson Model 1917 Revolver issued to the US military during WW1. It is matching, “United States Property” marked, and has a flaming bomb military proof on the left side of the frame. It has retained nearly all of its original high polish bluing with just a hint of a roll mark on the cylinder and some minor dulling on the grip straps. One small area of dark discoloration on the left side of the barrel. A very light surface scratch on the left side of the frame. Excellent case-hardening on the hammer and trigger. Very nice period-correct wood grips – the right panel is hand-numbered and matching. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
