Description
6/22/23 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1901 issued to the US military in 1900. It is all matching and has the proper “RAC” inspector initials throughout, including the bottom edges of the grips. It has retained roughly 85% of its original high polish finish. There isn’t much actual wear, but there is spotty oxidation, patina, and mild discoloration throughout. Most of the actual finish loss is on the back strap. Really nice fire-bluing on the trigger and on the top edge of the hammer. Fitted with nice period-correct wood grips – obvious bruising, especially on the left side. The bore has great rifling, but there are some small pits in the grooves here and there.
