Description
9/27/24 – This is a nice example of a Colt US single action artillery model. The action is tight as a drum and works perfectly on all 4 clicks. The frame on this one has a very early serial number, dating to 1874. The frame is “US” property marked with various mixed military numbers, including “RAC”, “P”, and “K”. RAC inspection stamps on the bottom edges of the grips. The right grip panel has a military inspection cartouche and is dated 1903. Overall, it is in nice condition for its age. There is general finish loss and brown “attic patina” throughout. Some spots of oxidation and a few tiny pits here and there. There are a few small dings on the left side of the barrel. There is some bruising on the bottom edges of the grips and a hairline crack in the right panel. The bore is mostly shiny with great rifling, but there are some small spots of oxidation. No FFL required.
