Description
5/14/24 – This is an original WW2 German Heer Army Afrika Korps Pith Helmet. The helmet is in great overall condition. 2nd model, featuring two exterior shield-shaped decals. Both show light surface patina and natural age but are still in very good overall condition. There are a few small scuffs and one or two minor moth holes on the exterior felt material. This is mild wear and generally minimal. The leather brim edge is in great shape with all original stitching and no major issues. The leather chin strap is still attached and in great shape. The interior is clean and excellent overall. The leather headband is clean with a size sticker “54” and interior headband ink stamps to indicate size, date (42), and maker code (HR). The maker code and markings in this fashion are somewhat uncommon. The interior crown cap / metal piece is DRGM stamped and maker marked “C. Th. Dicke” as shown (see last photo).
