5/16/23 – This is an original 2nd Model Luftwaffe Pith helmet. These were used by the German Africa Corps (DAK) during WW2. This example is in very good overall condition with a clean felt cloth exterior with two attached decals – one on each side. The decals are in excellent condition as shown. The leather brim has some tattering and missing portions of leather from age, but the original leather chin strap is still attached and in great shape. The interior is clean with a small crack in the red colored interior crown. The leather headband is excellent with a JHS maker stamp on the exterior, and a 1942 date on the interior as shown.
