Description
11/1/23 – This is a very nice example of a BYF 44 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. All matching with the proper “Waffen 135” military acceptance proofs throughout. The frame and slide have a phosphate finish and the barrel is blued, giving the gun its iconic dual-tone finish. The finish on these can be difficult to rate, but we would estimate it has retained about 85%. There is minor high edge wear and some areas of thinning and discoloration on both sides of the slide and on the front strap. Fitted with period-correct black plastic grips and comes with a rare, late-war, “U” marked magazine. Excellent bore. De-cocker is functional.
