12/31/24 – This is an excellent example of a 1944 Dual Tone P.38 with a blued barrel and a phosphate finish on the slide and frame. All matching with the proper “Waffen 135” military acceptance proofs. The black Mauser style grips are proper for 1944 production. These finishes are a bit tough to rate, but we estimate this one has retained about 96-97%. There are just hints of high edge wear and some spots of discoloration here and there on the phosphate parts (typical). Fitted with reddish bakelite grips – a couple of tiny chips on the hump of the left side. Comes with a “Waffen 706” proofed jvd magazine. Mint bore. De-cocker is functional.
