Description

9/12/23 РThis is a great example of a Dutch Beaumont-Vitali rifle. The rifle was an early adopter of the metallic cartridge in Europe. In 1888, the Vitali magazine was added to the rifles to make them a repeating rifle. The metal on the receiver and barrel has little to no finish left. The magazine still retains a deep bluing with edge wear. The receiver is marked “P. STEVENS MAASTRICHT,” the serial number, and various proof marks. Barrel has a number that doesn’t correlate with the serial number, but matches the buttplate. The barrel also has various proof and inspection stamps. The rifle has matching serial numbers on the receiver, bolt head, magazine follower, bolt body, rear sight, the striker leaf spring cover, and the rear piece of the bolt. The stock is in excellent condition, with no major damage and has a cartouche stamped on the right side. There is a ding on the right side above the magazine. The bore is immaculate. Very bright with sharp rifling. Comes with a cleaning rod that is not correct to the rifle.
