08/06/2024 – For sale is a Model 1855 musket made at Harper’s Ferry Arsenal in 1858. The rifle is in good condition for its age and is well worn. The metal throughout the rifle is worn down to bare metal with spots of oxidation and very shallow pitting. The lock plate and hammer are in great condition and the rifle functions properly. There is a trapdoor for the Maynard priming system. The stock is in good condition but there are some cracks and a chip missing. There is a crack on the left side of the stock above the trigger going from the barrel to the lock plat escrew, and then down to the trigger. The bore is fairly dark with the rifling worn. There is a dent on the nose cap and the ramrod is slightly bent.
