2/5/25 – This is a good example of a WW1 era Imperial German Colonial/Naval Belt Buckle. This belt buckle is on what we believe to be an original German military belt from the period. The buckle is a two piece construction and consists of a brass main plate with a nickel front plate. This nickel front plate has the phrase “GOTT MIT UNS” which is “God is with us” on it, as well as the imperial crown.The leather on the belt is still pliable, the tongue of the belt is marked with “95”. The leather has some light cracking and wear from age and use. There is some cuts into the leather of the belt near the hook, but these do not go through the leather. The stitching on the belt is in good condition, but there is some loose/missing stitching near the clasp hook.
