3/1/24 – This is a good and original condition M1866 Chassepot sword bayonet with scabbard. This example was manufactured in 1871 at the St Etienne French arsenal. The blade shows a few pin prics of patina with no rust or pitting. The crossguard has a dark discoloration with a serial number that reads L 13225. Fitted with solid brass grips, they have an aged look with a few minor dings here and there. The scabbard has a dark discoloration with no dents or cracks. The serial number on the scabbard reads K 41595.
