04/23/2024 – For sale is a K98k made by Mauser-Werke in 1944 equipped with a ZF41 optic. The rifle is matching on the barrel, bolt, bolt sleeve, safety flag, and cocking piece. The serial number was added to the magazine floorplate which is not correct for this production letter block and should not be serialized.The stock is unnumbered and is incorrect to a Mauser made rifle as it is proofed with Eagle H for Sauer or Gustloff. The finish on the metal is clean and even. The wood furniture is clean and free of cracks. The ZF41 optic is clean but the lens is slightly foggy. The bore is very bright with great rifling. The optic + rail was likely added post war by someone else.
