Description
3/13/25 – For sale is an M1 Carbine made by National Postal Meter in late 1943. The carbine has undergone a rebuild and has some replacement parts. The metal has a nice parkerized finish but high edge wear and the top of the receiver slightly darkening with patina. The stock is a wartime replacement with a “J” stamped in the sling well. The barrel is stamped “Buffalo Arms 9-1943” and the flaming bomb. The receiver, front barrel band, and the barrel are correct for a National Postal Meter but the trigger group is a replacement of assorted makers. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The muzzle erosion rates a 1.5. The rifle comes a Green Canvas sleeve marked “US” on the side. Over a pocket is written an address for W.F. Troxel in Gettysburg, PA. Also comes with a clamp on muzzle brake.
