03/04/2024 – This is a very rare Remington Model 40-X rifle with U.S.M.C. PROPERTY roll mark on the receiver, one of 2,200 produced.Introduced in 1955, this early 40-X wears a 28″ medium-heavy barrel with factory supplied scope blocks and has holes drilled for Redfield target sights.The bluing is original and in excellent condition with scratches to the finish up and down the barrel and receiver.Mint bore and terrific stock with no notable wear other than some handling marks on the wrist area. The rubber buttplate is in rough condition and is dry and cracking.
