6/4/24 – The Waldman pistol was designed and produced at the Eibar-based firm of Francisco Arizmendi, but was marketed under a fictitious German manufacturer, Rheinische Waffen und Munitionsfabrik (RWM). Early pistols were sold under the name “Walman” and purported to be American-made pistols. The later “Waldman” guns bore German proof marks, which either indicates that Arizmendi had a German sales outlet or that the marks were elaborate forgeries. The markings on the slide of the pistols were always in German and purported that the guns made at “C??ln” – a misspelling of K??ln. This one is matching and has German “Crown N” proofs. It has retained about 96% of its finish with minor high edge wear. Fire-bluing on the trigger. Fitted with correct Walman grips and comes with one magazine. The bore has decent rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout.
