Description
1/23/25 – This is a good example of a Pre-WW1 McKeever cartridge box. This style of cartridge box was popular in the later years of the American Indian Wars. This cartridge box holds 20 rounds of 45-70 government. The leather on this box is still in good overall condition but the leather is cracking and flaking. The front of the leather is embossed with the US logo. The back of the cartridge box still has its makers mark, however the second half of the makers mark has disappeared with age. The makers mark for this cartridge box is “Waterville Arsenal” however only “Waterville” is still visible.
