4/14/25 – For sale is a Springfield Model 1863 rifle made in 1864. The rifle is in great shape for its age. The barrel bare metal with a dotting of oxidation. Proof stamp of an Eagle head, V and P at the base. The Hammer and lockplate also have plenty of patina and old surface oxidation. The stock is in great shape with no cracks or breaks. Inspector proofs are faint on the left side. The bore shows strong rifling and fairly bright. Comes with a socket bayonet with heavy surface rust over the socket portion.
