Description
4/22/24 – This is a WW2 German Police Dress Bayonet. The bayonet features a unit marking on the hand guard, ornate bird’s head pommel, “stag” style grips, and a 13 inch shiny dress style blade. The blade tip indicates this example was cut down, likely from an Imperial Police bayonet, and modified for use during WW2. The blade is clean and in excellent overall condition despite some micro-scratches and minor surface imperfections due to scabbard rub and age. The base of the blade is maker stamped on one side. The hand guard and pommel are deeply engraved and in great condition with nice natural patina throughout. No cracks or chips in the handle, and one side of the handle has a police eagle emblem. Comes with an original scabbard that’s in great condition with natural aging and patina throughout. There’s light surface cracking on the leather portion of the scabbard, but the scabbard is completely intact and fits nicely.
